During my time in Singapore, there was one blog I would always look to. Charlie from Lottie Lifestyle is stylish, cool but also one of the loveliest people you could ever meet. And her recipe for Lemon and Rosemary Olive Oil Cake is to die for!
B: Who are you and what do you do?
CC: I'm Lottie (and also Charlie - let's not get stuck on the name thing!) and I'm the owner of Lottie Lifestyle - a blog, a shop and an interior styling business in Singapore. Running a small business means I do a bit of everything - my days are often varied - some days it's all about photography and styling beautiful products, other times I will be sourcing for the shop or completing a residential styling project. I enjoy it all. When I'm not working (and sometimes even when I am) I am mum to two lovely kids.
B: What is the most beautiful thing you own?
CC: Such a tricky question. But I'm going to say my engagement ring. It was my mother in law's engagement ring before she passed away. So it has huge sentimental value and it represents love - surely the most beautiful thing there is.
B: What is the most practical thing you own?
CC: A hair tie. I have a huge amount of unruly hair and I live in Singapore. Say no more.
B: What must you have in your bag before you leave home?
CC: I always have the essentials - wallet, keys, phone, lip gloss and a pen or two.
B: Which travel destination is next on your bucket list?
CC: I would love to explore Central and Eastern Europe.
B: What products or brands are you loving at the moment - fashion, homewares or beauty?
CC: Having just launched a shop I am immersed in so many gorgeous brands. I have a huge appreciation for businesses that are producing high quality, thoughtful products that are produced in small batches with a focus on original design. Some of my favourites are Espanyolet for their hand painted vintage linen cushions, Vanderohe for their stunning hand blended organic facial cleansing oils and serums and I am living in my Desmond and Dempsey PJ's - comfy and stylish.
B: What are you reading, watching or listening to?
CC: I am obsessed with all things BBC World Service podcasts - Witness History, Outlook, The Inquiry - they are all good. I have just binge watched the second season of Fleabag on a recent trip away (we can't get it in Singapore for some reason so I had to wait until I was elsewhere). And I've just finished reading On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous by Ocean Vuong - not an easy read. In fact quite a challenging book in terms of subject matter but very beautifully written.
B: Which bag would you reach for - the classic neutrals or the statement metallic gold or silver?
CC: I love a classic neutral that I know will go with everything.
B: Which is your favourite bag from the Bahru collection and why?
CC: I love the Singapore crossbody bag of course! - in French Navy. I love any bag that lets me wear it crossbody and the Singapore is the perfect size for when I have client meetings or am out all day and need to fit a little more into my bag.
